harley and mario?
I was going to take the kittens to the vet today but because I have a ton of schoolwork to do by tomorrow I guess I will take them in Wednesday. It is going to be so sad and lonely without them here.... I have bee trying to convince one of my housemates Andy to adopt them so they can stay here and I even offered to clean the litter all the time but he claims to know nothing about cats and is concerned about taking care of them when I am gone. I have also been trying to convince my cousin to adopt them but she has a really old cat and is already tired of cleaning the litter so I am not so sure she will want them....
Milo (Mario on the site because there was already a Milo)

a few more days
So my sister convinced me to keep the kittens a little longer- hoping she can make it home this weekend to see them before they get adopted out. Understandable. Saying she gets attached to animals is a huge understatement (but since she is the only person who actually might read this i'll leave it at that).... I was looking through all the pictures I have taken of them recently to decide which ones to upload and got bored so I'll upload some photos later. I have a big fur real friends cat and introduced her to Milo and Harley yesterday. They seemed very curious but since I couldn't get it to hiss on command they eventually lost interest and moved on. Time for class!

last night with the kittens
So I got a call from the vet tonight that they finally got the adoption cage built at the vet and I can bring Milo and Harley in tomorrow. I am happy that they are finally going to be able to find a good home but am going to miss them so much. I also feel bad for my sisters because they raised them and hand fed them for weeks and won't be around to say goodbye to them. I have been taking a bunch of pictures of them and will upload them sometime soon. I have also been looking into fostering more kittens and will let you know how the rest of my time with the kittens goes.

kitten update
The kittens have been back from the vet for a couple days now (you can see Harley's shaved belly from the surgery in the photo below) and I haven't had any trouble with them lately. I brought out an old cat toy- a little red ball- last week for the kittens to play with. I didn't think they would enjoy it because it didnt make noise and didn't roll very well or anything but they have had a blast with it. They toss it around and carry it in their mouths across the room... It is so cute! I think they reason they really enjoy it is because there is only one and the other kitten doesn't have it. Milo and Harley have also been getting better acquainted with my older cats but Kibby still hisses at them if they get too close. I am working on getting the kittens' info uploaded on petfinder so they can find a forever home before they get too big.

vet visit
So I just dropped the kittens off at the vet to be fixed and what not. fun times. I wasn't sure if I was going to get them back or if they were going to be kept there until they were adopted but luckily they said I can have them back for a bit. I am still trying to find someone to adopt them. It would cost like $80 (but getting them fixed is like $75 alone) and none of my college friends have that kind of money when there are "free" kittens all over the place... But this at least gives me a chance to clean their bathroom area up without them freaking out about a vacuum or wet swiffer. I wish I could put them back in that other empty bedroom but I really can't risk them peeing on the carpet again. They seem happy enough in the bathroom I guess... In other news we went to my aunt's farm a few weeks ago and my sister realized one of the cats there was declawed indicating that she was a pet and quite obviously can't fend for herself and find food in a barn with no claws. She convinced a shelter to take her and is now trying to convince me to foster her until she finds a home. So that might be coming up once I get these cute little kittens adopted. They were so cute at the vet- some lady had a pretty big dog and he came up to the cage and the kittens just looked at him and sniffed him. my other cats would be hissing like crazy but these guys are just so well behaved. Hope they aren't too scared at the vet. we'll see...

getting better
Life with Milo and Harly has been getting better. They haven't had any "accidents" in two days which is awesome and makes them a lot more fun to have. I have already started turning the "kttien room" into a game room so I guess they will have to share. I had friends over last night and they really enjoyed the kittens. I am hoping one of my friends will adopt them so I can be sure they are in a good home. Today I brought one of those carpeted cat towers into the bathroom for the kittens to play with and, though they were hesitant at first, they really had a great time playing in it. They were having so much fun and I wanted to leave it in there for them because the bathroom is so bare but I couldn't risk them using it as a toilet so I took it out when I left... Here is a video of them playing with it though. enjoy.
